Taking Control - A Time & Workload Management CourseA Six-Module course delivered by email and supported by 1-1 email or telephone coaching.
Many people, whether employed or self-employed, find the attempt to feel in control of their time and workload (both in and out of work) is a major challenge and that not feeling in control is a significant source of stress. As a training consultant I have delivered many 1- or 2-day courses on Time and Workload Management but have always been aware that this is not the most effective approach. To manage your time and workload effectively you need more than new information, strategies and systems. You also need new strategies and systems to manage yourself. It’s really about replacing old habits that don’t work with new ones that do. Changing habits takes time and a willingness to explore different approaches to see what works best for you. A ‘one size fits all’ approach just doesn’t work. This course is a specially designed email coaching course, not just an email version of a book. You may already have read one or two Time Management books and tried to apply some of the ideas but perhaps not with as much success as you would have wished. This course will provide you with the same content in terms of techniques and information that you would find in a book (and is written in the flowing form of a book) plus activities for you to engage with experientially to speed your learning and instill new habits. It also, via the coaching, provides you with structure, support and encouragement over an extended period of time. It may well be that some of the time management and workload difficulties you have which would lead you to do this course would also show up in relation to the course itself (eg making time to do the modules, getting the feedback to me on time). Rather than being a problem this creates an opportunity for us to identify and address these issues as they arise. Module 1 - You and Your Time - Introduction, Challenges, Motivation, How It Works
We start with a telephone discussion to decide when you wish to receive modules and how long you want to work with each module. This is flexible and can be changed if you find you need more time for certain modules. The Modules are sent out by email and when you have completed a module you email me a feedback sheet which forms the basis for our (email or telephone) coaching session. Cost & BookingOption 1 : Option 2 : If you choose email coaching, but at any point in the course decide you would benefit from a telephone coaching session, you can book these on an 'as required' basis for £30 for a 30 minute session (pro rata for longer sessions).
